A pile of mail awaited us when we returned from our 16 day trip on Thursday (details of the trip are forthcoming). I spotted 3 envelopes from USCIS and opened the first - it was the receipt for 670 bucks for the renewal of our orphan petition - the second & third were the receipts for $80 each for our fingerprints - but wait! - can this really be so? - part of the text indicated that it may be up to 1 year before we are set up with an appointment for the printing! - Argh! - OK, calm yourself down - you'll need anger management classes if this adoption wait continues at the rate it's going! - so I continue to sift through the remaining mail and whaddayaknow - 2 more envelopes from USCIS with our appointment confirmations (Saturday, October 13, 2007 - 2 PM) - those people are nuts! Why do they do that? Argh!

Well I am glad that some where you managed to find the fortitude to keep reading your mail and at least came to the one with your appointments before getting to upset over the one year thing...geeeesh...what a journey you are on. Hang tough...it will make you good parents.
I think they hire the criminally stupid!!! Do they feel that sending out so many envelopes justifies what they are charging??? Glad you got your appointment!

I assume you are using the Orlando office... when I had troubles I would call the 'Orphan Officer'... (tip #1 - Don't let them for a minute forget who you are)
blech - makes you NUTS!! our LID is 2/17/06 and not in january 2006 because they messed up our first one and had our names and address incorrect on the first one.
