The morning could not have been nicer for a run/walk in Central Florida. Temps were in the low 70s, there was live jazz by The Groove Doctor in the Town Square at Windermere, vendors were serving coffee, juice, fruit and water to the runners and the sun decorated the landscape making the greens greener and dancing off the lakes surrounding the race course.
Registration was smmoooth - we picked up our packets and Tee Shirts (the art work on the shirt is above) - it's really a fine looking shirt - and headed for the starting line. We knew that we'd be walking the course -
ankle problems and dropped out after awhile.
The 7th Annual 5k Run is held in the charming town of Windermere and follows the shoreline of the beautiful Butler Chain of Lakes.
It meanders along the lakefront beneath the canopy of old oak trees.
One is Don narrating the event like he's doing an Olympic event and the other
is a bunch of neighbors who decided to party and cheer on the runners (at 8 AM)
with shouts, cheers, noisemakers and mimosas (champagne & OJ)

The 5k Run Among the Lakes was beyond amazing. The weather was perfect. The sun gave a special touch to the magic Town of Windermere as well as the live Jazz of the Groove Doctor in the Square of Windermere. The girls from Olympia HS Tennis did community services feeding the atletes and saying their times. It was not easy to run 3.1 miles in an unpaved and sand track. At the end Mayor Gary Bruhn prized the Top 10 runners. My son ran and got 7th place, I was very happy. CONGRATULATION to all of you. Great Job. God Bless You.

WOW! How beautiful was that? I don't know that I could get all the way through that without taking a gazillion pictures!! Well... aside from the fact that I don't know that I would make it anyway... but how beautiful!!! LOVE IT!
Enjoy the beautiful cool week ahead!

WOW....What beautiful pictures!
one day I will do something like that... though I have decided that when and if I do lose enough weight... I am going rock climbing... or sky diving... should be fun... take care
Those videos are funny. Are the people so happy because your the last ones to finish and they get to go inside now? Seriously I would be walking too. I've never liked running, its just too darn hard. I'll take a brisk walk any day. The scenery looks so pretty.
